go see him live. He is still kickin it all over the stage. I miss the pals too but the guy ain’t 20 anymore. Listen to the lyrics, he wrote all that stuff and it is way heavier than the rockabilly stuff. I was listening to one step yesterday and do miss it.

Seems a few people can’t believe the evidence of their ears…..Gonzales is doing what he clearly understands and loves. Anyone that’s remotely hip to roots music (or the history) can hear the connections. Someone once asked Sonny boy Williamson what folk music is, he replied; ‘it’s music played by folk.’

I’ve wondered myself where Dave Gonzalez got the idea of playing in a country band. The Hacienda Bros arewere okay but, really Dave
is not cut from the traditional country band cloth like the rest of that band are. It is a shame, Dave G. is a personal favorite and I hope he returns to his roots rock and swinging blues that made him one of the best
all around players in America. Long live the
    Paladins!!!!!

How on earth did Dave Gonzales get mixed up in all this? Did he get a flat tire at a truck stop or what? Seems a damn shame..really kind of hard to fathom.. all due respect…I can’t really see him topping any of the stuff I’ve heard him play in the past…so.. maybe he’s just bored with rocking out… taking a (hopefully short) break..and kicking back at the retirement village for a spell?
